Romans 12:5
So we, being many, are one body in Christ, and individually members of one another.
This church is an autonomous body, congregational in nature, where each active member has an equal voice. Decisions will be made by the church body, as led by the Holy Spirit, according to the guidelines, principles and commands of the Holy Bible.
To become a member of Mountain View Baptist Church a person must have accepted and confessed Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, received believers’ baptism by immersion following their profession, and by a unanimous vote of the active members voting.
Any person may offer themselves as a candidate for membership in this church during the invitation of a regular church service in the following ways:
  • By profession of faith and baptism.
  • By promise of letter of recommendation from another church of like faith and order.
  • By a statement of prior conversion experience and baptism in a church of like faith and order when no letter is obtainable.
Members are expected to live faithfully the Christian life as set forth in the Bible and the church covenant. They are to give regularly in support of the work of the church and the missionary work supported by the church. Unless providentially hindered, they are to attend regularly and faithfully the services of the church and to give of their time, talent and service according to their spiritual gifts and ability.
