Worship & Music Ministry

Come join us in worshipping the Lord! There are numerous ways to get involved in the worship and music ministry at Mountain View. For additional information call the Church Office at 336-468-8199.

Musical Ensembles

These ensembles typically meet once a week year round. Fundamentals of reading music and ear training are taught in these ensembles so you do not need to read music to join. In addition to participating regulary in the worship service most ensembles are active ministering to the community through music.

Children’s Music

Children’s Music is offered as part of G.R.O.W. Kids weekly and is open to children from pre-school through 6th grade.

6Adult Choir

The Adult Choir is open to youth and adults. Rehearsal is on Wednesday nights from 8-9:20. The choir sings in Sunday morning and evening worship services and does a blended style of music including traditional anthems, southern gospel, hymns, contemporary anthems, and contemporary Christian music.

Praise Band

The Praise Band & singers lead weekly in Sunday and Wednesday worship. Instrumentation typically consists of guitars, bass, drums, keyboard, strings, and vocals although it may be adjusted based on need. Rehearsal time is set weekly by the ensemble. The Praise Band typically performs contemporary Christian music.

The orchestra leads worship for special programs. Orchestra rehearses on Sunday afternoons, the rehearsal time varies based on member’s schedules. Orchestra is open to woodwind, brass, string, and percussion instruments.

Instrumental & Vocal Soloists

The church is always open to contributions by instrumental and vocal soloists or small groups. With multiple worship services per week there is always a need for additional music. Contact the Church Office for more details.

Other Worship Areas

Audio/Media Team

The audio/media team is an elite special forces unit within the worship ministry. Their job is to covertly run worship services from the back of the church without arousing suspicion as to their presence. The audio/media team works at odd hours of the day and night (as well as during worship!) to make sure the sound and media elements of worship services run smoothly. The team also work during weddings, funerals, and special events as requested. The team is responsible for audio setup, sound reinforcement (live mixing), recording, ProPresenter and Powerpoint presentations, as well as running announcements, videos, audio, lighting, and other material during the service. If you have experience in one of these areas and/or have a teachable spirit this ministry may be for you. Members of the audio/media team are encouraged to attend training workshops to keep up with emerging worship technologies.

Ushers & Greeters

Ushers and Greeters are always needed for the Sunday morning worship service. Duties include greeting visitors and church members, collecting offering, and assisting with seating and other needs.

Flowers & Sanctuary Decoration

Throughout the year assistance may be needed with flowers and sanctuary decoration as well as maintaining pew Bibles, hymnals, and other supplies.
