Introduction

As a part of the overall ministry of Mountain View Baptist Church, the purpose of this ministry is to give encouragement and practical counsel to you from a biblical perspective with the aid of psychological and relationship insights. Off-site counseling is offered without a fee and is supported by the regular giving of tithes and offerings through the church.

Christ-Based Treatment Services

Christian counseling offers therapy for adults addressing a variety of challenges, including: self-esteem, anxiety, grief, addictions, spirituality, depression, codependency, mood disorders, and relationships.

Meetings

Meetings are by scheduled appointment. An appointment is a commitment to your work and a contract between you and the counselor. Each agrees to be present and on time. On occasion, the session may not start on time. If the counselor is delayed, and knows ahead of time, an attempt will be made to contact you and negotiate the remaining time or reschedule. If you are delayed, please contact the church office. If you are late by more than 20 minutes, you should reschedule. Please give 24-hour notice for cancellations. Sessions are usually scheduled for 50 minutes and meet approximately bi-monthly. We do not have available staff to supervise your children in the reception room while meeting. Therefore, please do not bring your children with you if they require supervision.

They may discuss an aspects of your case with another colleague, however your identity will not be revealed without your permission. There are two situations which the law and professional ethics require disclosure. One is the reporting of known child abuse or elder abuse, the other is any situation where a person is a danger to self or others. Otherwise, nothing will be shared without your knowledge and a Release of Information Form signed by you. Our staff makes every effort to preserve confidentiality.
